WELCOME TO STUDIO SPELLING!

I’m Rachel Spelling. Before the pandemic I painted large-scale residential murals. During lockdown I shrank my work and began painting miniatures onto paint charts and, to my surprise, I discovered a rich, new visual language which is full of possibilities. It’s given me a framework to explore all the things I’m interested in - fashion, cinema, interiors, written fiction, music, hopes, dreams, sadness, imagination, memory, history, nostalgia, uncertainty, suspense - all wrapped up in the language of colour. I’m full to the brim with ideas for new work and I’m so grateful for this twist that my life has taken!
