“With this painting I was at pains to mix exactly the right colour for the telephone, which is the one I remember from when I was growing up. It was a kind of cream / putty colour. As the painting started to take shape I realised that the colours in the shadows exactly replicated the colours in the two paint chips below (French Gray and Treron). Within my immersive paint chip universe this was very exciting! This painting is for my lovely Dad, who worked at British Telecom.”

The Telephone, painted directly onto the Farrow & Ball paint chip for Pigeon, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm.

This painting is signed and dated on the back, it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity and posted in a sturdy gift box.
