“It’s the middle of June on a warm evening, it’s 9pm and the city lights have just begun to shine. This is a painting of the view from Winns Common in Plumstead, South East London, which is around the corner from where I live. The Common sits high above the city offering an amazing view of the city. I used a tiny amount of fluorescent pink in this painting to bring a bright, candy optimistic glow to the impossibly pretty midsummer sky. I love this time of year.”

The Midsummer, painted directly onto the Farrow and Ball paint swatch for Skylight, is an original miniature painting by Rachel Spelling. The painting is 2cm x 3cm and it is served on a strip of twelve beautiful colours from the iconic Farrow & Ball colour card, which measures 7.4cm x 21cm. It is sold unframed.

This miniature is signed and dated on the back and it will be accompanied by a signed and embossed certificate of authenticity.
