HAND-PAINTED GEOMETRIC BIRDS MURAL

This project was inspired by the brilliant 1950s illustrator Charlie Harper. On the walls and hand-made furniture I painted brightly coloured birds inspired by Harper's graphic, hard-edged style of illustration. I also painted the hearth with a tile effect pattern. The project shows how a relatively small amount of painting can transform a whole room, and although it's a baby's nursery, the room will grow with the child.
